Our Story

Becoming a Dolphin for the Poor and Vulnerable in Nigeria

Dawn of Life Foundation (DOLF) was established in August 2003 by three pro-poor-oriented individuals. The idea was to be a DOLPHIN – a friend of man in “water” for the poor and vulnerable people in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Since then, we have expanded our reach to other parts of Nigeria, working intensively in TB, HIV, Food, and nutrition services, strategically finding lasting solutions to poverty and poor health for individuals, families, and communities across the country.

Our theory of change is simple. We believe that participatory development processes will bring about the desired change for the poor and vulnerable.

Hence, our vision is a world without poverty, where people live in dignity and participate in decisions that affect their development.

Our mission is to reduce poverty in Nigeria by providing qualitative and affordable health, education and livelihood strategies.
